1888 Patent Package Co Spice Box Set Victorian Pantry Tins Antique Complete
This rare Victorian-era spice set was produced by the Patent Package Company and dates to 1888, as confirmed by the original handwritten label on the exterior. The set includes the original round wooden band box with metal-wrapped lid and a collection of individual spice canisters, each constructed of early paperboard/wood with tin rims and stamped spice names on the lids.
Surviving sets are extremely scarce, as most Patent Package Company tins were separated, discarded, or damaged over time. This example retains multiple matching canisters with readable labels including “Mustard,” “Allspice,” and others. The interior and exterior both exhibit rich, authentic 19th-century patina, making it a beautiful piece of early American kitchen history.
An exceptional display piece for collectors of Americana, primitives, early advertising, Victorian food packaging, or museum-style pantry collections.
